Last Update 2/22/08
I've listed some of these HPV's on this site because they are reverse trike designs, and some do have electric conversions which might make them usable by potential customers that would normally be looking at the typical gas powered RT's. The other thought is using just the body from one of these vehicles, and building a frame under it to mount a motorcycle power-plant for instance. I'm thinking something along the lines of a SUB G1 style using a HPV body, but using a small 450cc V-Twin engine like the Aprilia has out now, and a lightweight aluminum frame like the Moran you see on this site.
I think this combination could have good aerodynamics and good gas mileage. There's no reason to think we couldn't get 50 - 60mpg out of this, and still have a pretty fast machine. Or maybe a combination of the Go-One HPV or a NMG body with the drive-train from a Suzuki Bergman 650cc for instance. Where the front wheels are now on a Go-One you would have a suspension like the Indycycle or Sportcycle to give it a wide-track stance. The Bergman has a very low profile motor and drive-train. Attach it to the rear of the body similar to the way the Aero Trike Roadster, and those style kits; mount the steering neck to the back of the body, and you have a fully enclosed trike! Using a NMG body you could be sitting right on top of the Bergman drive-train. I know the NMG body has to be very light, so it might be be a snap to connect the 2 together and make it work, assuming the end result is a good handling machine.
